Monster/Halloween Speech and Language Unit!

Halloween is my favorite time of year. But not everyone celebrates Halloween and not every school allows Halloween-themed materials. I tried to meet in the middle by creating a Monsters theme. Close to Halloween without really being Halloween. Very sneaky, I know.

This cute monster-themed speech and language unit includes the following:
Monster Madness
-I have/Who has monster game
-Compare and Contrast the two monsters on your card.

Multi-syllabic Monsters
-Feed the monster the multi-syllabic word
-sort target cards by things we eat and things we don’t eat
-sort target cards by number of syllables
-practice multi-syllabic words in simple & complex sentence levels
 Create Your Own Monster
-create your own monster both expressively & receptively
-draw your own monster homework/activity page
-listen to other’s description of monster activity page

R Monsters
-123 cards arranged by prevocalic r, vocalic r and r blends

Monster Irregular Past Tense Verbs
-36 past & present verb tense cards
-sort verbs by tense on sorting mats

  1. Very cute! I made jack-o-lantern cookies one year, but had a student who didn't celebrate holidays. So, he made a smiley-face go big orange (for Univ. of Tn.) cookie! Same cookie, different names! :)
